Who is Voice of Da Streetz?
World Famous Voice of Da Streetz! Orlando’s Undisputed Heavy Weight Mixtape Champs consist of three members. Anwhat, Mayor, Nosa. We started at the age of 16 rocking house parties and mixtapes. 10 years later we have changed and influenced the scene in Orlando. From Deejaying major clubs Element, Dragon Room, Bliss, Antigua and traveling outside Florida for events and parties to having super star artists like G Unit, D Block,The Runners, Nasty Beat Makers, Tony Touch, Joel Ortiz, Mobb Deep, Pitbull RichBoy, etc… host their monthly mixtapes.

How did yall get started?
We have always been influenced by music. Growing up in a big Latino family we would always have parties and listen to all types of music from Salsa, freestyle, House, RNB, and Hip-Hop. A friend who moved to Orlando from Yonkers NY who showed us a mixtape from Funk Flex. That Funk flex Hot97 mixtape changed our life. I remember saying we can do that. So we started making mixtapes for school on a karaoke machine! LOL yes a karaoke machine until we saved up couples months later for real turntables and started rocking ever since.

What’s been your biggest accomplishment thus far?
Some people would say having all your favorite superstar artist featured and hosting our mixtapes, but I would say is transition from just being known as a mixtape deejay to rocking feature slots on the radio and clubs. We showed the world that we are more than just mixtape deejays. We are trendsetters who can rock events, parties and clubs with the best of them. Oh did I mention we can also make beats with the best of them too. LOL! We feel that was a big accomplishment in itself was to show the world what we can do.

What’s been your biggest challenge?
Our biggest challenge! Hmmm… The Hip-Hop and entertainment field is very challenging on how cut throat it can be. It’s very competitive. I would have to say it was showing the top people in the game what we were made of and now that they see what we can do they have allowed us to take it to that next level. Because let me tell you about the people at the top of the game. They want to stay there. They don’t want someone younger and fresher to take their spot so it’s very hard to bust that door down. But when you fight for it and work hard- talent will always shine through.

How has Orlando Changed in the past 5 years?
I think Orlando has changed for the better. There is no longer a monopoly. At one point you could only go to certain places and see the same DJ’s and artist etc. now the game is so open anyone with heart and talent can have their lane. We have a lot to choose from. Orlando is a huge melting pot now. You have artist getting signed out of Orlando, huge producers making tracks for A List artists that are all over radio, TV, etc. So, Orlando it’s time to show the world that we are also major players in the game!

What advice would you give artist? DJ’s out there?
Never settle for less. If you surround yourself with great people and learn you will be great as well. Find a mentor. Set your goals and work and work and work and study your craft because there is always room for growth and knowledge.

What services do you offer?
We offer everything from hosting and putting together your mixtape and albums projects. We also offer radio service, commercials, TV host, deejaying parties, clubs, and events. Oh and for major and independent artist we do beats as well.

Last Words?
Check us out at your weekly nightclubs downtown! Cop all the Voice Of Da Streetz mixtapes! Big Shout to everyone in Orlando working and grinding for their Dreams! You can contact us or check us out at these sites:

Beat smith’s Dru Brett and Mayne Zayne who compose THE RUNNERS are quite a deadly combination. In less than a year and 5 months they’ve earned over 11 platinum plaques and sold over 4 million ring tones. Together, they started the company in the summer of 2003. First time they heard their record on the radio was a production for Fat Joe’s “Does anybody know” record. They next did Lil Wayne’s Money on My Mind and Juelz Santana’s Murder, Murder. They linked up with DJ Nasty who co-manages them with DJ Khaled. The Runners refer to the business as “a country club that is real small , a lot smaller than you think, but once you get in you know everyone and everyone knows you,” says Dru. Nasty was already in that club and he walked them through the door. They placed “Hustlin” on their own and have blown up to be one of the most sought after producers in the game since then.

How did you guys meet?
(M) Dru and I been friends since Pre- school. We are like brothers. Brothers don’t meet they just come together.

How did you pick your group name?
(D) Originally when we started the company I was in North Carolina, he was in Florida. We would just creatively talk on the phone. We wanted to have a business strategy behind our plans. We wanted to come up with something real catchy. We wanted to come up with a name that we both felt was appropriate and it just clicked. Besides the fact that music is on a track, it just felt right.

Are you both from Orlando originally or somewhere else?
(M) We are originally from Vero Beach.

Do you think success changed you?
(M) Not really because since day one we knew who we were and who we were going to be. Our self confidence coming into this game was very high.

What can you no longer do now that you are “The Runners?”
(M) You just have o be aware of the people that come to you . Now that they know who we are they want to tie themselves in with our operation. We have to keep our eyes wide open.

What’s the worst part about being famous?
(M) I wouldn’t consider ourselves famous. I consider ourselves as a Michaelangelo, where people love you for your work. (D) We are the producers so we try to stay behind the scenes.

Do you think you can do for Orlando what you did for Miami?
(M) Bug Time! (D) we already are. We signed our first artist – Bali. His mixtape is called the come up – volume one, hosted by DJ Nasty and DJ Khaled

How did you hook up with BALI?
(M) About seven years ago we linked up. He had a group called ‘Hot and Heated” He decided to be the front man and pay his dues to help his family out. (D) Bali is like us – he strives for perfection!

Are you looking to sign more artists?
(D)Right now we are trying to focus on our one artist. We are very busy so we want to give the proper attention to our artists. (M) We have to prove ourselves not only as producers but as CEO’s as well. Once we do that I feel like we will have the cream of the crop artists looking to be down with us.

How many beats do you make in a week?
(M)It depends on how booked up we are. It could take 2 days on one record or it could take one week on a whole album

How long does it take you to make a beat?
It could take two hours to a couple of days.

If you were to name one session you have ever been it your favorite which one would it be?
(D) I would say working with Luda and T.I.
Sometimes being in a group – people step on each other’s toes – do you foresee that happening with you r has it happened?
(D) At the end of the day we’ve been frends from preschool. We have learned how to work well together. We always hear each other out and it works!

What would say is the formula to success?
(M) You gotta work hard! (D) I feel like you have to have the right team around you that understand the business. Of course you have to have the talent. (M) You need to have patience too!

If you were to use one word to describe yourself what would it be?
(D) Complex
(M) Complexer

For the ladies – single and ready to mingle or taken?
(M) Taken. I’m married to my music (D) Same here
Finish this sentence – Drew is A BOSS! Mayne is UNSTOPPABLE!

Any shout outs or things people should know about the runners?
BALI!!!! Watch the Runners progress and break into pop music. You’ve seen us work with hip hop greats , now keep watching as we work with all mainstream. Stay tuned………..myspace.com/therunners

If you record in Central Florida and don’t yet know of STIX, you surely will soon. Ask any local emcee what’s their favorite place to record at and you will probably hear about Wyldelife studios. Wyldelife studios is currently located in Kissimmee, Florida. A very comfortable place to record at, not only do they offer unbeatable rates, quality and service, but they have what no other studio anywhere else has….. STIX!

Stix, what do you do?
Engineer, Compose, Songwriter, Rap, Grind

Where did you get the name?
I used to be a little stick figure back in the day and niggaz used to clown me cause my roots was Haitian so I combined the two and then I switch the sticks to S.T.I.X. S.ubliminal T.eacher I.nvestigating the X. Unknown. I stay teaching and I stay learning

How did you get started in the music business?
I was in a group called the Beedie Hedz back in the day and I just wanted to make things happen so decided to go try to get my foot in the door. So I went to Full Sail to help myself become independent as far as production was concern then in 1998 when I graduated Full Sail moved to the Atlanta and got to work for the legendary 2 Short. I had recorded a couple tracks on his nationwide compilation and the rest was history

What motivates you?
Knowing that Donald Trump, Bill Gates, and what ever wealthy hustler out there is working with same about of hours in a day as me. If they can get it so can I. Your boy got big plans and a lot of people gonna eat.

What are some challenges you have had to face in the business?
Finding people that can be on the same page. Business is business. It either hustle or get hustled

What advice would you give to new artists/ producers?
Don”t ever try to be like anyone else, make everyone else want to be like you. Then you know you got something.

What can someone expect when recording with you?
To always get there monies worth. This is no hobby I really do this

What’s missing in Orlando?
A radio station with balls enough to show local artist love

Any last words?
Let me get a Khaled budget and watch how I change the game!!!!

How can you be contacted?
(407) 973-2711 or email haitianblood@juno.com

How did you get the name?
Hmmmm….Since a juvenile I was a hot boy in the street…and my Haitian peers named me Sho. (Sho means HOT)

What made you want to get into music?
Being the son of a Gospel singer and a Drug dealer inspires me to express myself through music. As an artist, music is my weapon. It is a much easier way to express my feelings about things and talk about the life around me.

Are you from Orlando originally – if not from where?
Yes, born and Muthaf**king raised in Orlando AKA Crab city AKA Goon City.

Whats the bigest accomplishent you have had so far?
Voted unsigned hype in a national magazine (Hip hop Weekly), not to mention over 300 spins on Radio as an unsigned artist.

Who is part of your team?
Swamp House, Huhhhhhh I am backed by da streetz.

Who do you think are some power players in the Orlando Scene?
As far as promotion, Frontline promotion, Dawgman, and Mercedez streetz have to be the power players in the city. The DJs are some major power players too, as far as Orlando DJ Nasty and DJ Prostyle.

Is there any artists – major or independent that you would like to collab with?
Yes, since I already got my independent collaboration with Treal, my major collab would be Mary J. Blidge.

Where do you record out of?
I record at my homies spot - Adam Barber who’s a platinum engineer.

Who are some producers that you work with?
Grammy award winner “DJ Nasty”, Multi platinum producer Dakari and two of the rawest producers in the street right now…..David Breed and Phil4real.

How old are you?
23 like MJ and I am in my prime Let’s Go.

Where so you see yourself this same time next year?
Well, I am on my grind and I know hard work pays off. I am Head first with everything I do!!!

What do you see wrong with the Orlando Scene?
It’s really not a enough time for me to answer that question, let me just say that the people with the key to the city seem to be opening doors for other artist that are not from the city.

What do you see right with the Orlando Scene?
Lol….you’re talking to him right now.

How would you describe your style?
I’m like an octopus with 8 different styles, I am so versatile I can flip on any beat…Try me, huhhhhh!!!!

Any last words for us?
I appreciate Pure cash for sitting down with the ultimate underdog, back by the streetz da mixtape get you one! Tell them fuck niggaz I got next, huhhh!!!! myspace.com/darealshoboy

Fif is reportedly awaiting distribution from a major label, while his latest mixtape, Dead Presidents with DJ Smallz, gains further exposure.

PCM: Wassup Wes Fif what have you been up too?
WF: Grindin’ baby, you know same ol’ sh*t. Trying to make a million dollars.

PCM: Why do you call yourself the King of the O?
WF: Well really that’s just how I felt at the time, I still feel that way to a certain extent. If you don’t feel like you’re the best, then you don’t need to even think about jumping into this game. My initial reason for that though was shock value. I expected others to take offense, and knew it would make them want to see what I was about. Once you hear my music, and see that I’m for real you either agree with that statement, or you respect the music and the movement enough to forget that you were mad that I made that statement. I don’t go by that as much anymore, I still feel like I’m the best however.

PCM: What is the most important thing you have learned so far with this business?
WF: People you think are your friends in this game, aren’t your friends by a long shot. You have to know how to distinguish friendship from business, and try hard not to mix the two. Keep the grass cut and watch for snakes.

PCM: Who do you respect right now in your city that you think has a shot and is putting it down?
WF: My big homey Jon Young, Treal, Dee Boi, my whole CMG family, Underworld, Smilez & Southstar and Grandaddy Souf still in it. Man everybody doing their thing I have a level of respect for because I know it’s not easy at all with all the favoritism and shit going on with most these DJs and shit like that.

PCM: is there anyone or anything we didn’t cover you would like to let us know?
WF: Log on to www.myspace.com/wesfif man, become part of the movement. I want to thank Pure Cash Magazine for taking the time out to f**k with ya boy man. All my ni**as locked up hold ya head, all the fallen soldiers we miss you. 407 we IS on the map…believe it. CMG.!!!

Who is SONNY CHULO?

“Sonny Chulo is that ni**a! King of the town 24\7 and I’m ready to
prove it anytime, anyplace, anywhere,” says Sonny. His name is a mixture of nick names given to him by the streets and the ladies. When asked how he would define his style he says: “Well PUN put it the best “what I got to do to let yall ni**as know I am the nicest ever hardcore, commercial, what you wanna do? You wanna wild out? You want to dance? It don’t’ matter to me I got it all locked down baby!” Sonny draws most of his inspiration from his daughter and never felt there was a place for Puerto Ricans in hip hop until he heard Flow Joe by Fat Joe. “Ever since then, history began for me,” says Sonny, who feels he’s the king of the town because “basically I feel like I’ve been here through all the changes that the city went through. I was reppin’ Orlando when it wasn’t cool to rep Orlando – I’m a veteran,” says a very confidant Sonny. On deck for Sonny Chulo is his latest mixtape “KING OF THE TOWN” the warm up edition\Street album, and his debut album that will follow in the footsteps of B.I.G.’s Ready To Die, Big pun’s Capital Punishment, and Jay Z’s reasonable doubt as explained by Sonny, before extending a R.I.P. to Breaks and Big Will, and asking that hey Free Uncle Nick and Big Jay.
